We were sent a couple of images of New Zealand Fern leaves and asked if it was feasible to create a stained glass window based on these images as her partner was born in New Zealand. After discussing various options we decided that the best and most practical design would be to have the design painted onto the glass. We used a very good stained glass artist to help us with this project whom we have used many times before. The artist came up with a design and we chose and cut various textures of clear glass. It was then taken to the artists studio and painted and fired in the kiln which integrated the paint into the glass. We then continued the process with leading the panel and soldering, cementing, cleaning and finally having the panel encapsulated ready for fitting. The customer was delighted with the finished window.
