Christchurch Primary School
Christchurch Primary School in Colne contacted us as they had recently found a old Gothic style metal frame when removing a wall. The frame was a little weathered and the Headmaster believed the frame was from circa 1840.
The school wanted to somehow display the frame and asked us what would be the best way to do this. We suggested designing a basic three panel design that would fit into the frame and could be displayed in a wall mounted cabinet with backlighting.
We worked with a local cabinet maker who came up with a design for a wooden cabinet that wound house the metal frame with leaded panels fitted into it, a light backlight source and diffuser board so the light would spread more evenly.
We sourced the backlight and diffuser board and once the panels were fitted into the newly painted metal frame we met with the cabinet maker at the school in Colne to fit all the components together.
All parties were extremely happy with the outcome of the finished display.
